  • Curlew - October 23

This is our second visit to Aultmore Cottages. This time we stayed in two cottages, Curlew and Osprey as a family of 9. It was just perfect and we would highly recommended it to anyone looking for a break. As it is in estate grounds it is so quiet and private with walks literally on your doorstep. We hope that the new owners continue to make these cottages available (and at an affordable rate) as we would love to return. Fingers crossed????.

  • Curlew - October 23

Having stayed at Curlew cottages several times over last three years that must say it all. The staff keep the cottages there in prestige condition. They are always there if you need anything at all. The location is superb. The scenery and views are stunning put that together with peaceful and you have a perfect place to be in the Cairngorms.

  • Osprey - October 23

Wonderful location and setting. The cottage has some minor problems but is generally excellent and well equipped. Peaceful and so relaxing. My thanks to the owners and those who prepared the cottage for our stay.

  • Curlew - September 23

Beautiful cottage, fantastic setting. Very comfortable and well equipped. The staff I spoke to were very helpful and friendly A basic welcome pack would have been appreciated, as would operating instructions for the heating and TV (which isn't straightforward). Also the outside appearance is rather shabby (rendering coming loose in places), and is in contrast to the lovely interior. Thus only four stars rather than the five it really should be scoring. Fantastic value for money, we'll be back!

  • Heron - September 23

Very pleasant pet friendly property in a beautiful location. Nice to be able to walk from the cottage and also close to other walks in the Cairngorms and Moray coastline.

  • Heron - September 23

Loved the cottage we stayed in. It was so peaceful and quiet and wasn’t too far from the places we wanted to see. We were able to even do a couple of walks next to the cottage. Michael one of the mangers helped us with a couple of issues straight away. If we ever return to Scotland we would definitely stay there again.

  • Curlew - August 23

Peaceful location and welcoming staff. Good family size accomodation. Lots to see in the surroundings.

  • Snowgate Cabin - August 23

Prime location, pretty much opposite Loch Morlich with the view of the cairngorms from the front. Magical cabin . The only thing I would add would be a more secure area for dogs outside (as its dog friendly). The property does face the ski road and is not enclosed. Other than that, this place is very wow. Can't wait to return in winter where I am sure, it will be even more magical! Ps...storage is quite short so don't bring loads of stuff!

  • Osprey - August 23

The four of us (two couples) had a fantastic stay at osprey cottage. Set in beautiful and spacious grounds off the beaten track made for a very peaceful and relaxing stay. Very clean. Beds v comfortable. Fabulous cast iron bath in which to soak at the end of great days exploring the cairngorms biking and hiking. Kitchen adequately equipped though could have done with more than 4 of everything. Garden furniture needs replacing! However, would definitely stay again and was exceptionally good value. Thank you!

  • Heron - August 23

Well another amazing stay at Aultmore cottages! Audrey and the other staff are brilliant, so welcoming, helpful and great for a blether. The cottage was as usual spotlessly clean, warm and great night sleeps had by all! Keep up the great work guys and hope to see you again soon!

The country estate where the cottage is situated (and its immediate surroundings) are utterly magical. The cottage is charming and comfortable. The estate staff are very friendly and efficient. We had a problem with the central heating system and it was fixed with no fuss in a matter of minutes. We'd love to go back.

Curlew Cottage and the Aultmore estate is a wonderful place to stay. Peaceful surroundings combine with a lovely warm cottage to come back to, after a busy day of walking and taking in the majestic scenery is rare these days. Their is always someone on hand if you should have any problems. Not that we ever have. I We will be going back.

We are delighted with our experience in Heron cottage. It was very peaceful, and Staff were very responsive and quickly addressed our needs. Walking around the area was most enjoyable, there were plenty of walks of various lengths! And it was lovely the dog was welcome without additional charges

  • Osprey - September 22

Lovely cottage in beautiful surroundings, tucked away on a peaceful private estate. Well equipped kitchen if you want to self cater (great butchers cum delicatessen in village). Whole property well maintained and clean. Good size bedrooms and bathroom with bath and walk in shower. Short drive to the village and various walks around the nature reserve and forest, golf club close by if that is your thing. Good base for exploring further afield with plenty of places to visit. Limited options for eating out in village with only hotel offering evening meals but more choice in Granton or Boat of Garton (recommend Andertons). Will definitely stay again next time in the area.

  • Curlew - September 22

Curlew is a comfortable cottage set in beautiful, peaceful countryside, backing on to woodlands full of wildlife. The cottage has all the amenities needed for a self catering holiday. This was our second visit to Curlew, (4th time to the Aultmore cottages). I would not have returned if the property was not to my liking.

  • Woodland Cottage - August 22

We had a wonderful stay in Woodland Cottage.  The location is ideal with many of the top attractions a 20-30 minute drive away and some larger towns (Aviemore, Grantown on Spey) are close by with restaurants and cafes (Nethy House is highly recommended for coffee).  The space was good, a nice large garden for the dog to potter about, it was clean, the bed was very comfortable the owner was nice enough to provide a small cake for us on arrival - which went down a treat with a coffee.  Would stay again!

  • Woodland Cottage - August 22

My husband and I and our dog had a most amazing stay at the cottage.  It met all our needs.  It was comfortable, spotlessly clean and had a fabulous enclosed garden that was a sun trap.  The roomy hall was great for storing biking equipment (my husbands) and spacious enough for me to do yoga when he was out on his bike!  The bathroom was lovely and the kitchen had everything you would need to prepare home cooked meals, which is our preference.  We know the area well and love it.  The cottage has access to the river walk and the woods within a few minutes from the doorstep.  The amazing Nethy cafe is a short walk away and the Deli and Spar shops stock anything you would possibly need including non-dairy milk and fresh bread.  Can't wait to return!  Thank you so much.

  • Berry Cottage - August 22

Berry Cottage was one of the best self catering accommodation we have ever stayed in. Everything was perfect and we would all have happily stayed there forever. The views, the house and the garden were brilliant. Would highly recommend a stay there.

  • Woodland Cottage - July 22

Very comfortable, well equipped cottage with a large garden which our dog loved to run in.  Plenty of good walks nearby especially in the nearby woodland.  The log fire was an added bonus making the lounge exceptionally cosy in the evenings.  Would recommend.

  • Berry Cottage - July 22

Berry Cottage is an exceptional and breathtaking place to stay in. We were so blown away with the open space floor plan, the tall windows that allowed for so much natural light and the breathtaking views of the highland mountains that you wake up and sleep to. We really enjoyed our stay at this home and so fortunate that the owner opened his home to us. The owner was also so responsive when we needed help and solved the problem the same day. We hope to stay here every time we visit my sister in Grantown-on-Spey. This home made our whole family experience so memorable in Scotland! Thank you! We highly recommend!!! -Jazylette

  • Osprey - July 22

As usual we had a very pleasant stay at the Osprey Cottage and we thoroughly enjoyed the week in the pleasant peaceful surroundings at Aultmore. The access track has been improved enormously since last year which is a great improvement. Our only complaint was the TV reception which was very poor and needs to be looked at.

    Mr Maurice Wilby
  • Woodland Cottage - July 22

Lovely cottage, very cosy and wood burner was all ready for our arrival.  The cottage is close to the woods for walks with the dog and it's not far to Aviemore, Grantown etc. Great find in Nethy Bridge

  • Heron - July 22

A most charming place with all you need for a holiday in the most beautiful landscape. The forest directly behind the house, many different walks nearby, beautiful views towards the estate and the privilege to feel temporarily at home in those wonderful gardens. Should you still want to watch TV, though, be prepared for very unstable reception of only a few stations. The kitchen is adequately equipped to prepare smaller meals. Bathroom facilities fine, beds wonderful. A place to fall in love with Scotland, as we did.

Just spent a very happy week's break in the Waterford Apartment. A very welcoming, comfortable flat with a sun trap area at the back, perfect for eating out. The flat is nicely decorated and well kitted out. Grantown itself has plenty of nice eateries and bakeries. We certainly will return but maybe for longer next time.

  • Berry Cottage - June 22

The cottage was well presented to a high spec.everything was there to make our holiday as comfortable as possible.

    Mr Denis Rumsby
  • Curlew - June 22

Curlew was fantastically clean, being that there was only the two of us we only used the downstairs. The TV system was a little difficult to use. We were celebrating our 41st wedding anniversary and really could have done with some flute glasses and some nicer wine glasses. We had a very relaxing stay with some fabulous snow fall for the last two days. We will.be back.

    Mrs Gill Barrows
  • Woodland Cottage - June 22

Very well appointed holiday home.  Kitchen although small has everything needed and the large area in the hallway is great for storing bags etc

  • Berry Cottage - June 22

When we booked this it looked very well appointed and very good quality. When we arrived we were not disappointed. Would loved to have made use of the log burner but delighted that we had 6 out of 7 days with strong sunshine. Did some walks in the local area and down by the river, fabulous place. The village is a bit isolated and you would need your own transport having said that a small price to pay for such a super week in super accommodation. Would highly recommend.

  • Woodland Cottage - June 22

A lovely place to stay in a really good location.  The cottage is very well appointed.  We had a terrific stay and visited places like Spey Bay and The Spittal of Glenshee which were in easy reach.  Aviemore has pleanty of shopping opportunies.

  • - June 22

A well situated, nicely furnished apartment which is spacious as holiday places go, plus has the advantage of an outdoor seated area. It is a pleasant place to return to at the end of a day but also very habitable if a restful day is the choice. The owners have made it a welcoming place and have thought out well what guests may need. It’s well placed for shops, for local walks, for eateries and for going further afield. We loved it.

  • Woodland Cottage - May 22

This was a last minute decision and really glad that Dexter (dog) and i found this place, was clean, warm and rooms are larger than what you expect from the images.  Quiet village with little traffic and various good walks on the doorstep along with easy access to the likes of Loch Morlich.  Towns of Grantown on Spey and Aviemore only a short drive away with restaurants and takeaways etc.  Hopefully have another visit with warmer weather.

Thoroughly recommend a stay in this fabulous cabin, so well equipped and spotlessly clean. Surrounded by beautiful views and so tranquil, we sat in the veranda listening to the birdsong and enjoying a wee dram. Lovely friendly hosts who have made this cabin a special place for short breaks. We will be back in winter!

  • Berry Cottage - May 22

This delightful cottage comes with everything you will need ( and some fab stuff you'll just gawp at) for a comfortable and peaceful stay in the Highlands. Berry cottage has the added bonus of 360degree views of the Highlands and super convenient for all the amenities that the Cairngorms National park has to offer. Surrounded by flat grass lawns and a large parking area with double gates the Cottage is really self contained and not overlooked. This will be our third year at Berry Cottage and are really looking forward to it.
